I have briefly mentioned it here before but not given you all the full impact and repercussions of one of the most unsettling things to happen to me in the last few months.
Yes my CD/DVD burner stopped working! Meaning no more compilation CD's for the car, to send to people, to put programs on or take to peoples houses! I tried relentlessly to fix it, scouring the internet for a fix, updating firmware, cleaning lenses, checking cables, reducing heat, slowing the burn process, frustrating sums it up really. Eventually I resigned myself to the fact that unless I bought a new drive I would never burn CD's again!
The story does not end there tho... I came back to it last week, I could not let it beat me! The only thing I had not really looked in to was power, now no where did it say, that I could find anyway, that power may be an issue but it makes sense that something doing that much would consume a fair amount. So I removed one of my fans, the biggest one (It only had one when I purchased the PC but it kept over heating so I added more) and guess what it's now working! In conclusion, all of the above worked together to fix it but there is not a happy ending, yes I can burn CD's again improving my quality of life no end but if I try to push my machine too far with video (even webcam) or games it crashes because of the heat build up! *sigh*
So that's the back ground of today's post now to the point. The following is the first CD I have made in ages and I have to say it's bloody marvellous with all the bases covered and some John Peel inspiration. It's hard to believe it's been a year since he sadly passed away. I wonder if he is somewhere sipping on a glass of red wine spinning some after life tunes with all the other musical legends? His spirit will live on for many years to come, he was a true inspiration. Your are comments appreciated on this post and any other you care to leave your mark on.
