I first got on the net over 15 (2009) years ago and have had my own site for at least 7 (2009) of those years (a place where I could dump the misery of my everyday life!), you can see my fist efforts @ www.freewebs.com/gad123 and my current blog @ www.gad123.co.uk . I am a kind person, smart, (I know that is subjective) and witty, the dry, sarcastic type! I am told that I am easy to talk to and am very laid back. I enjoy playing poker, listening to any music, watching movies & American TV shows, love going to the pub, dancing on a Saturday night and am a bit of a nerd as I own a Wii, PS3 and built my own PC! I am a creature of routine, love the night time when all the exciting things happen, am a bit of an insomniac and love getting trashed at the weekends! If you want, you can catch me on MSN @ graham@gad123.co.uk! Take care and enjoy you browse around this GAD123 Page!

It's A Bloody Post - Shut Up...

How good were the last 3 episodes of Doc Who, "Here come the drums, here come the drums, baby, baby, baby...." Just brill! It's the first time I have enjoyed it since Rose left, roll on the next season and a new companion, I believe!

It's just ironic, Northern Ireland enters a new phase just as Mainland UK starts to take a step back in time to the old days of good old fashion heavy handed policing and the potential for your next door neighbour to be a terrorist!

It was not that long ago that towns were shut at 11pm with barriers on ever street, stop and search check points where set up randomly and every shop you went in to had burly security guards searching you! No one cared about the violation of our human rights and to top it off we now have former terrorists running our country. I really don't feel anything concerning what is going on in the mainland right now and, as I have become accustomed, did not notice anything mildly shocking in the news over the weekend, it's all a bit, well, been there, done that! To be honest it all seems a little OTT, these guys are not the IRA and should be fairly easy to stop, yes?

I had the 'pleasure' of flying to England recently and the checks at the airport where just unbelievable. Of course being a single with guy, coming form N.I. and clearly looking like a terrorist, I had my photograph taken and was tracked through that whole airport. I felt a bit violated and now there are talks of putting similar checks in place on the Tube and Trains, what a mess!

It looks like what has happened here has been a waste of time, all those lives lost and what is there to show for it, we are still part of the UK and it looks like nothing has been learnt dealing with the terrorism threat here over the decades! It's a sad state of affairs.

Oh played poker last night, went to a chip count and lost by the smallest or margins, maybe one less hand or one more and I would have had it *gutted* Thanks for the game Kayeso!

It's been a while, ain't it? I have been away (a super time was had by all, well maybe just me and no tears!!?) and otherwise engaged! I just really wanted to let everyone know that I am alive and well! Normal service should be resumed by next week! I should mention that my room is decorated, totally cleaned and dejunked. Also I set up all my favourite channels on Sky TV again, taking in such highlights as the Gamer Channel, Spain Channel and some yoof channel! Peace out!

Playlist, Poker and Procrastination...

My folks have been away on holiday (back yesterday) so I took Friday and Monday off work, did not do too much, poker and drinking really! Food did not enter to much and I am sure I have lost weight. Rest of the week is going to be very quite, skint and I have lots of little things to do.

I am so bloody tired today, messed up sleep pattern is to blame and playing poker last night did not help, came second tho. I wish I had more to say really but you all know my life is boring!

I did take a personality test and apparently I am an Observer, I think it's quite accurate. What do you think? This means you're one of the more kind-hearted people around. You are unusually intuitive, and you probably understand yourself, as well as others. That also means you're a good mediator - though you may prefer to spend more time on your own than most.

You are better equipped than many to steer your life in the right direction. Understanding more about the components of your personality will reveal unique information that even people like you might not realize. And the better you know yourself, the more confident you'll be making decisions that affect your life.

Lastly today here is my current iTunes Playlist, you all know you wanna comment on it:

The Twang Ft. Mike Skinner & Professor Green – Either Way Remix
Avril Lavigne – Girlfriend

Dizzee Rascal – Wanna Be (Ft. Lily Allen)

Dizzee Rascal – Flex

Dizzee Rascal – Sirens
Dizzee Rascal – Pussyole (Oldskool)

Rihanna – Good Girl Gone Bad

Rihanna – Push Up on Me

Rihanna – Umbrella [feat. Jay-Z]

Just Jack – Glory Days

Snow Patrol – You Could Be Happy

Placebo – Because I Want You

Placebo – Infra-Red

My Chemical Romance – I Don't Love You

My Chemical Romance – Welcome to the Black Parade
The Lemonheads – Into Your Arms

The Gossip – Standing in the Way of Control
Faith
No More – War Pigs

Bloc Party – So Here We Are

I am spent, have a good day folks!

As He Gazed Upon The Vista...

I am back, hurrah is he murmur I can hear floating around in cyberspace! It's been so long that I have forgotten HTML and how to blog. I hope everyone had a good Easter. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond anyone's control my Easter was a bit of a wash out, nice to be off work and that tho, hope you all faired better.

Vista *cough* VISTA, arrived through my letter box last Friday, I was so excited and nervous at the same time, do I upgrade, clean install or what, will all my software work, will my hardware fall over... Arrrrggghhhh! It was 11pm when I started getting all the drivers and updates I needed, backing up my PC in prep for duel boot (one 320g HD for XP and another clean 320g HD for Vista). By 8am I was done and finally decided it was time for bed. Everything went smoothly really and by that stage I was completely happy using Vista and had it running the way I WANTED, it's so annoying that it try's to hold your hand when you attempt to do anything. Two small issues have arisen, my TV card will run in a compatibility mode but the glass effects must be switched off (no vista driver is available yet, IT'S BEEN OUT FOR MONTHS, how can this be) and I am only able to surf the internet at one third normal speed (Tiscali said not to upgrade and no solution was available, HOW CAN THIS BEEEEE, IT'S BEEN BLOODY MONTHS AND YEARS IN THE BLOODY PIPELINE) but that is fine for now and I can and do still boot to XP for downloading and that!

So what do I think? Well I have the business version, my PC rating is 5.3 (scaled from 1 - 5.9) and my graphics rate at 5.9 (bragging rights there then and when I get some more RAM I am sure the whole system will be almost 5.9) so my machine is very capable and I am in a good position to judge it's proficiency. In XP I used so many little programs to get it to work in a cool way, a sidebar, glass effects, windows blinds, etc that it all slowed the system down a fair bit, happily I find Vista faster than how I was using XP. I think it's a lovely OS, not leaps and bounds ahead like we all hoped but it's clean, looks nice, gets faster as you use it and for anyone new to PC's easy to use! Things like the Speech Recognition works straight out of the box, the search is fast and in a year or so when development really kicks in I doubt you will be able to fault it (Mac's new OS is delayed so for now anyway it's top dog), OK maybe just a little. For me personally I wanted to be able to get under the hood more, to see what's happening but it wants to just tick away in the back ground, without YOU seeing how, why or when anything is happening but for the mass market this is an advantage.

To up some, I like it and you will too but it's not ready for the mass market and won't be until 3rd party developers get their act together! As an upgrade, don't bother yet and on a new PC, well that choice is removed! Peace out folks!

So after Meys comment I suppose I should write something on the budget. There are good things there but ultimately it's given by one hand and taken with the other. On a personal level it's all loose, loose. Fags, booze, petrol, tax, in everything I am screwed over! If only I was married with a couple of kids, then I would be rubbing my hands with glee! Then again... lol

On a more positive note my PC is sorted. Even tho it seems like a bit of a resource hogger I have managed to get my hands on an older cracked version of ZoneAlarm Pro, so that's the Firewall issue sorted! I must remember to chase up my copy of Vista as it's yet to arrive!

PC Heroes...

After running my PC for 4 months, with only a few hours here and there down time it finally fell over, nothing really major but in classic PC style none the less. Lots of programs reset to default, my firewall crashed and refused to reinstall (now looking for another one, I need something free, with port forwarding, if someone can help), etc. I think it was heat that caused the problem, well that and the old dust bunnies. So it's getting opened up and cleaned out, still need to drop in my new fan but can't be bothered taking out the mother board at the mo!

All checks done, anti this and that programs run, fingers crossed and all is currently well, thank god as my back up is not up to date!!!!

So, Heroes, you have heard of it, right??! I can't say enough good things about it and don't want to spoil anything but it's currently on the Sci-Fi Channel in the UK and will be huge in the summer when it reaches BBC2. Basically you will love it if you are in to comic books, X-Men, Sci-Fi, well written and fun escapist drama. Sounds like it's for kids but it's really quite dark, every eps has a jaw dropping cliff hanger ending, everyone is connected and everyone is not what they appear to be, good or evil!

I started re watching it (seen the first 4 previously) with Dimples (HAPPY BIRTHDAY) and could not stop! 24 hours and 18 Eps later I have finished the series. I believe it starts again on the 23rd April in the States, so bring it on! Speaking of Heroes, how fantastic was Kimi in winning the F1 race, that's my hero, emotionless, cool as a cucumber, consistent, brilliant!

Some Little Stories From This Weekend, possibly...

The weekend was great, trashed with John on Friday, laughed so much at jackass 2 and Dirty Sanches, stayed up playing poker online (the usual) to all hours and made a few bucks! Um... An interesting night!

On Friday afternoon I was in Tescos and one of the girls on the till has a little thing for me or so I thought. She is always chatty, smiley and asks me lots of questions. Anyway she was asking about what I was up to over the weekend and I asked her in return, as you do! Apparently she was heading in to town (Belfast) to go to the Globe and the Kremlin. She ask me was I going there and then kept asking me over and over if I had been, etc. which I haven't. OK, no surprise so far but the Kremlin is a gay joint, so instead of her having a thing for me, she is some sort of fag hag and thinks I am gay! How funny is that!

Saturday was another movie night with Dimples, Saw 3, A Devil Wears Prada (shit movie, so so bad, how did it get rave reviews, Ugly Betty is so much better) and again Jackass 2 (funny, funny film)! Sunday was the BIG Wolseys poker tourney! The start was a normal affair, some of the cards went for me and some against! I ended up at the final table, letting the aggressors come after me when I had 2 pairs and the like. The numbers SLOWLY whittled down and I was in the last 4, 2nd or 3rd in chips but unfortunately time was against me if I was to win because we had only 8 mins left before a chip count! I decided to go all in every hand from then on. Next hand was AK and got no callers, then pocket 3's and the big stack called with KQ. That was the best scenario, a win would have made me chip leader, so the 50/50 race was on! After lots of messing about with flipped cards, wrong cards burnt, etc. prolonging the tension he hit the K on the bloody RIVER! I so felt a win, the luck against me of the last few weeks could not last and I just got my head down and played my game. The difference between 4th and first was £200 but I doubled up and you can't turn your nose up at that. Thanks Kayeso for running another great tournament!

After that I was not tired at all (playing hands and scenarios in my head) and stayed up to watch the SuperBowl Baby! I watch every year as it's a very special event, watched by an estimated 1 billion people. Not a classic match but worth seeing none the less, pity I was not drinking, in a bar or with anyone to share the experience with tho!

Bloody Friday again and a new month, where did January go? It's all got a bit boring here now, it's just me, me, me! Anyway, deal with it! poker on Wednesday was a similar affair to last week, Paul all in with 5c6c, I went all in over the top with KK and Dean called with AsQs and Paul took it with trip 5's on the river, what am I to do? I was miles ahead and again beaten by luck! Over the long term I know luck evens out but two weeks in a row, come on! It's the Wolseys Series of Poker on Sunday, feeling confident and going for the double. Wish me luck!

My fav track at the mo is Just Jack – "Glory Days" the whole album is great and you should check it out.

I see today a temporary Lithuanian consulate is being set up in Dungannon, County Tyrone, to offer support to Lithuanians affected by hate crime. I knew this would happen, who said we where tolerant people, moving forward in a peaceful society! More like we, and that obviously excludes me, are no different than the goby Jade and her race hating buddies! Maybe the UK as a whole is leaning that way with events over the last few years and it's not isolated to N.I. but I just hoped we would be different, even tho I suspected otherwise!

John is over for a drinking session tonight and then I am off to stay in Lisburn with Dimples on Sat. Have a great weekend folks
