About Me - GAD123

My photo
Belfast, N.I., United Kingdom
I first got on the net over 15 (2009) years ago and have had my own site for at least 7 (2009) of those years (a place where I could dump the misery of my everyday life!), you can see my fist efforts @ www.freewebs.com/gad123 and my current blog @ www.gad123.co.uk . I am a kind person, smart, (I know that is subjective) and witty, the dry, sarcastic type! I am told that I am easy to talk to and am very laid back. I enjoy playing poker, listening to any music, watching movies & American TV shows, love going to the pub, dancing on a Saturday night and am a bit of a nerd as I own a Wii, PS3 and built my own PC! I am a creature of routine, love the night time when all the exciting things happen, am a bit of an insomniac and love getting trashed at the weekends! If you want, you can catch me on MSN @ graham@gad123.co.uk! Take care and enjoy you browse around this GAD123 Page!

Poker, PC and Pap...

I know it's been a while, work, work, work!! Anyway, sitting in my car this morning, would not start at all, getting late for work, delivery man arrives, PC delivered, day looking up, car starts, happy days!!

Last night was the Wolseys Series Of Poker tourney, the following is stolen from Kayeso's Bebo page:

WSOP XIV

Sunday 3rd December 2006 will see the final chapter of the 2006 edition of the Wolseys Series Of Poker. Defending champion Graham Davis has been in good form in tournament play recently and finished 3rd in a big tournament already this week. Two recent winners, Glenn 'Back To Back' Shields, and Leo 'Recently Married' McGregor have already indicated they may not be able to play, so who will step up to the plate and deliver on the big stage?

Odds:

Graham 'The Rock' Davis 14-1 fav (Me - GAD123)
Paul 'The Bridesmaid' McManus 15-1
Kevin 'Cowboys' McManus 18-1
Billy 'Victor Meldrew' Kayes 18-1
Magic 'Magic' Paul 20-1
Dean 'Dead Money Fish Boy Playing Ace Rag Offsuit' Reid 100-1

Others 25-1 bar

I got the worse cards of my life and finished in the middle somewhere, ah well can't win em all!

Working Through The Running Order...

Sup! Peeps? You would think after such a long absence that I would have something witty and at least base level interesting to say, but... Alas... Nope! I will give you a short up date then get back to the grind that is work. I must say tho that Bravenet have updated the GUI *shakes fist* --- We have been putting together our annual directory, this is always a stressful and busy time but because of unavoidable incidences everything has been delayed and we have had to cram what normally took 3 months in to 3 weeks! All being well and all factors being equal it will go to print today. We have some promotions to go and of course this directory to get to members but it's a down hill run to Xmas. Well I say downhill but there will still be the overtime and 6 day weeks, tho it does seem a breeze when you know that yesterday I worked 17 hours straight with only a bite to eat at 10.00pm! Such is life tho, when you have 100,000 people who have paid for and are expecting products you have no option but to succeed, they don't care about unforeseen circumstances! Roll on Xmas when I get a few (hopefully a week) days off to sleep!

My social life has not really suffered, much to the detriment of my health I suspect (he,he,he), staying up on a Friday night to 4am playing online poker, Dimples and I still parting on Saturday Nights, out for dinner, Clubs, Pubs, even went to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show (very funny) in the Opera House in Belfast. She has it hard at this time of the year too, with the school play and that, so we are finding it had to get quality time together, NOW she has the god dam FLU! *sigh* I have also been missing the Wednesday night home poker game at Kayeso's too, which sucks and my normal routines are out the window!

This weekend I am having a relatively quite one, out on Fri for a bit then going out for a family dinner on Saturday for my Mom's 70th birthday, which is just mad, how can my mom be an old women??!

That, my friends, is your lot for today but I hope to post later in the week when some sort of normality returns. Stay Tuned but for now here are the final specs of my new PC that should arrive later in the week:

Possible Exploitation Issues By GAD123...

I got in to somewhat of a heated and unwanted debate *sigh* This 'chick' started on me for having Zoo Magazine on my friends list, using terrible language and stating how used these women where, etc. Now anyone who know me will agree I am not sexist but some people just judge. I have never even bought Zoo, tho I did flick through a copy once. Anyway, for the record "MEN AND WOMEN ARE DIFFERENT". Now get over it! Anyway here is the final exchange:

Subject:Hmmm...
You hate all these thing, politics, blah, blah but you collect the dole and take drugs, yet get at me for having Zoo as my MYsPACE friends??? Then tell me to fuck off! You have it all so wrong *sigh* And now comes the ultimate patronising put down:

YOU WILL GROW OUT OF IT!

Take care ;)

Their reply was:

Subject: Re: Hmmm...
Get a life, you have NO idea what you're talking about. I read your pathetic blog entry, you sounded like a complete sexist piece of shit. I never called myself a feminist, and I didn't have to guess that you would consider feminism a bad thing (like all the rest of the guys like you do).

What the fuck is wrong with being on the dole? I'm still in education and I'm actively seeking work. And what do you do? Work for advertising and marketing companies. I fucking DESPISE marketing and advertising.

And I'm not even going to TRY starting to talk about "taking drugs". I don't need to explain my stance on that to a moronic bastard like you.

You obviously have the wool pulled over your eyes by the sex industry, so again, what's the point of me debating with you? Do me a huge favour and take your piece of shit arse off my space.

Have a good weekend folks!

Let's Not Throw Away The Future or Forget The Past...

Just to let you all know what you should already, today is JOHN PEEL day and everyone should take a couple of minutes out to remember him and continue the legacy! R.I.P

A work colleague of mine is in hospital, she had surgery to remove a kidney stone and by all accounts is doing well. Get well soon LI!

It's getting closer to crunch time here in Northern Ireland as the summit in Scotland continues to try and sort out the future of this beautiful country. I hope that everyone involved can come to an amicable agreement, fair to all, to take us forward and leave the past (tho it will never be forgotten) behind!

If you want to know more and where the parties stand click here!

ust in case you missed it the last couple of posts where to mark World Mental Health Day on Tuesday October 10!

OK, that's the housework done, now on with more about me, yay! Today I am "acquiring" and I can't wait:

  • "Weird Al" Yankovic Straight Outta Lynwood CD
  • WWE No Mercy
  • Radio 1 Live Lounge CD
  • Lost Season 3 Eps 2
  • South Park Season 10 Eps 9

Tonight is cleaning pampering night, so pumping up the new music will be great. I love listening to new CD's, it's like a real rush. Then of course weeding out the crap and making a CD for the car or firing it on the old generic MP3 player. Tho in the good old days of my youth, it was taping off the radio and high speed dubbing friends tapes. Then spending hours making a mix tape for the personal stereo (I never had a walkman). After putting in that much effort and with it being a job to skip tracks (>> Fast forwarding killed battery life) you listened to every song over and over, getting so much more out of the music. Now it's all a bit throw away but then that's just another, sign of the times! I am so excited about watching Lost and South Park too, like a god dam kid, bring on Friday night after hitting up the hospital! Throw in a little VRB (Vodka Red Bull), Marlborough Reds, Poker, a J and you have yourself an evening of overwhelming enjoyment! Have a good day folks!

Talking About Life In My Head - Part 2 The Aftermath...

Reading that last post you would think I was very selfish, scared of any commitment, under pressure or maybe just clinically depressed! I am sure it's the latter and nothing to worry about. I am very good at understanding myself, dealing with my emotions - life experience has taught me that at least, Dimples would read that as cold and heartless though - etc but I do find it difficult when there are external factors deciding my life direction and how I spend my time! Reminds me of this post that I made years ago which still rings true today:

Choose long sleeve T's. Choose smoking quality weed to the early hours on Saturday morning playing online poker. Choose avoiding the sun, sitting in a darkened room with your head down and sighing at every given opportunity. Choose very little sleep and only in the day time. Choose smoking Marlboro Reds. Choose polishing your shoes every night. Choose Amsterdam and never going on a summer holiday. Choose buffed nails. Choose heartburn. Choose rain. Choose listening to the most out dated (and bizarrely pop, rock, dance, all quality music and even chart stuff!!) music you can find and believing that people don't like it coz its to hardcore for them, not because its utter sh*t! Choose drinking copious amounts of Bud and VRB (Vodka Red Bull). Choose goldfish. ChöösË måkîñg üþ ¥öü® öwñ üßË® ËËt Hå×ö® §þËËk (OK, I just thought that was funny). Choose staring at a monitor till your eyes bleed. Choose UT2004 and pressing T by mistake 'aaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww'. Choose more fans because it's too hot. Choose more hits and cursing those bots. Choose only communicating via SMS and living life online! Choose pwning your foe. Choose dancing. Choose watching animation. Choose connecting every bit of electrical equipment in the hope that only one remote control can carry out any task from your bed (even the lights, he he he). Choose being really anal about the slightest detail in the most pointless of subjects. Choose the Sunday Times. Choose food on the go. Choose always being right, even when you are not. Choose being perverted. Choose a force feed back mouse, a THX surround system, and a 42" plasma. Choose life. Choose Me!

Last weekend we went camping, it was great fun, a little cold, wet and very muddy but fun none the less. The only thing that put a bit of a dampener on it was THE SLUGS! They where everywhere but we combated by bringing out the WMD's, yip you guessed it, we surrounded the tent with salt! I was sitting outside, about to get dinner and spied one on my thigh, who says they are slow movers, hanging around there, trying to get it on with my manhood, with its stalky eyes! When I seen it I nearly had a fit, they totally freak me out! Dimples thought it was funny until she had encounters of her own, that will teach her!

Anyway I should not really be talking about me but Google taking over the world or North Korea trying to... I am just in a mood because my cherry scone only had two cherries in it, dam you M&S! *shakes fist*

Talking About Life In My Head...

Life for me at the minute is all full up, plans, plans and yet more plans! I am a very laid back person, like to take things as they come and I also like to adhere to a routine (read as a little obsessive compulsive). The luxury of that, do as I please ethic, seems to be slipping away though. I understand that as you get older you take on more responsibility and also that this is all relevant, I don't have kids for example! The next few months are the busiest at work, I have birthdays, anniversaries, meetings, people in hospital, social evenings, etc! How am I supposed to fit in MY time, poker and the day to day routine of my life to keep my sanity? It all makes me a bit queasy when I think about it. I need to sit down tonight and fill in my diary before my head explodes!

The reason for this ramble is uncertainty, I hate it, can't deal with it and have too much of it in my life at the mo, though any uncertainty is to much for me, especiality when it is out of my control! There are so many things I need to move forward but I am scared of pain, hurt, hassle, but I have to do it. Just one step forward but how? If I put one foot in front of the other, it's a risk, how do I retract it, how do I know its the right direction to go? I don't have a map, let alone a compass or any reference points! I like the status Quo and it likes me. I don't really bother people with my problems (they are miniscule ones anyway), just sometimes I need to let it out, so that's it dealt with, lets move on shall we?!

I am hopefully getting this little Coffee Maker:

OMG GAD123's Gone Political *shocker*...

So the "IRA campaign is over" says Blair. Well aint that just peachy! He said politicians now had a "unique opportunity" to reach a "final settlement". Well I hope so, I want our democratic elected representatives to do this, no matter who they are, where they are from or what camp their allegiances lie. We in Northern Ireland need to make this work, to build up the country and move towards self sufficiency! Tipically the PM failed to mention that the report claims some IRA members remain involved in crime, what a surprise! How can anyone, on either side, believe that the north / south divide was all the crime that these people where involved in, GET REAL! Tho I assume N.I. is still one of the most crime free places in Europe it is completely silly to think that the whole terrorist activity here was not also a cover for organised crime. It's just plain ignorant! Anyway, onwards and upwards!

Moving on, still an upward type trend here, how long can this be sustained and only a couple more thousand hits to reach my goal for the year! Yip you guessed it, it's Stat Whore Time Again:

It's been a while folks, sorry about that so for those of you still hanging around I am going to tell you what I am up to this weekend. It's been a busy old week, work and that and yet again I am off camping this weekend. It's probably the last time this year which is sad. We are going to Dungannon Park Caravan Park. It's just Dimples and I which should be fun, the weather is not the best (read as I love this weather):

weekends weather

Lost Season 3 started last night in the states so I am tracking down a copy, which I will encode for playing on my PSP and watch this weekend. Also getting Garth Marenghi's Darkplace and the first 25 eps of Bleach, how exciting??!

That's all for now but I will leave you with this; When creating and maintaining a personal website, you must consider your audience, aka who really reads this.. and the best guess I've come up with.... is no one.

Pandemonium at the weekend...

Before I go any further I must tell you all that after an absence of about a year Pandairo is back online. I have no idea how here survived but welcome back Auld Steve - O!

Have you all heard the song by Lil' Chris called Checkin It Out? It's a great track, especially considering he is only 15! I have no idea what his other stuff is like but I am going to check it out. His site is very good too.

Chinese GP is on ITV this weekend, I can't wait tho getting up at 6am to watch it live will be tough! Maybe as last year I will just stay up all night. Here are the times for you:

  • Qualifying: Saturday 30 September 1510-1655 ITV1
  • Live race: Sunday 1 October 0600-0900 ITV1
  • Race re-run: Sunday 1 October 1330-1600 ITV1
  • Highlights: Monday 2 October 0015-0115 ITV1
  • Highlights: Tuesday 3 October 0340-0430 ITV4

Apart from watching that this weekend, I am off on Friday, my last day off till Xmas so that will be nice, a lie in and all that. In the evening Dimples (get well soon sick girl) and I are off to the Cinema, probably Clerks II or Snakes, I would love to see the Jack Ass movie tho! Later that evening I will be playing lots of cool music with my Bose system, maybe watch WWE Unforgivin PPV and playing online poker, late in to the night! Saturday I am going to lie in and lazy, following that through to Sunday evening, punctuated by the F1 race! Have a nice day y'all.

Driving Slow on Cocaine...

Don't you just hate people driving slow in the outside lane of a carriageway or worse, the motorway! It really gets on my goat. Lets think about it, why would you take your chance doing it, frustrating anyone behind, making them over take - breaking the law - on the inside, tail gate, etc??! WHY?? Are you a slow driver, if so get in the inside, are you scared, if so why sit in the fast lane, are you stupid, most certainly!

This has happened to me on many occasions over the last couple of weeks on the way to Dimples house. I am sorry I have to report that all of them were women. I don't get why anyone would do this, it just aint safe. I am going to go out on a limb here and assume they did not notice because they where doing there make-up or maybe they where thinking about that top form New Look they wanted to buy but by all accounts half of them did notice! I flashed my light after 5 minutes of being over taken on the inside and got the fingers straight back. Classy ladies! Anyway, lets not tar all women here, you tell me why someone would want to do this?

Finally today, just a short note about the new energy drink Cocaine! It contains 280 milligrams of caffeine and the hit from all that is likened to the drug, apparently it also contains a substance to numb your throat just like the drug but that's probably hearsay. We can talk about how this relates to kids and the moral and legality of it here in the UK and Ireland but lets not! The important thing is, does it mix well with Vodka or any other alcoholic drink for that matter, if it does I think it will become my drink of choice. At 350 percent the strength of Red Bull, I can't wait!

Raped @ Bose

The weekend was FAB. More camping, I just love it! My latest purchases where a great sleeping bag, you all know about the table and I got a little black and white TV! All the comforts of home for the great outdoors!

We did some shopping at Junction One, Dimples bought me some stuff from Next, we also got some bits and pieces from the other shops, scarf, hat, Pestle and Mortar, cat stuff, pillow, etc! I had the misfortune of going in to the Bose shop. My god how good are the systems they have in there? I ended up purchasing the COMPANION® 3 multimedia speaker system. It probably is the best PC sound system you could buy. I wanted a sticker that read "I was rapped at Bose" but apparently they don't do them! Here is a little pic so you can admire them, beats a Table Mate... just:

BOSE COMPANION® 3

Couple that with the best Keyboard and mouse combo on the market, my 19" flat panel monitor and my PC set up is really getting there! All I need now is Vista to come out so I can build a suitable box to go with the peripherals (Like a good sound card, tho the one I have is 7.1 the quality is not the best)! Can anyone recomend some good tracks to get, ones that will make the most of my new system?

Posts later in the week will include, this weekends plans, F1, driving, cinema, Silent Hill, WWE, possibly... Cheers for stopping by folks!

I bought a Table-Mate®! Sad I know but after seeing it on a shopping channel I had to get one, perfect for bed, camping, even putting my cordless keyboard and mouse on! From their site:

Table-Mate®

"Table-Mate® is the patented ultimate adjustable and portable table that slides right up to your body."

I must admit they where charging £29.99 on the TV but I managed to find it for £12.99 online, bargain of the day or what??!

Good Luck Marrying Donnie...

To follow on a little from yesterdays ramblings about the home game, I read a post about luck over at the Cards Chat Blog. I view their site every day, find it interesting and informative and today's was no different. FPaulsson posted about another guys - who I am not going to mention because he does not deserve a link - blog, in it he said basically that saying sorry for a bad beat or even wishing people good luck was stupid and we only play to win money! Now I agree that playing online is about winning but I also enjoy it like Astolath is currently enjoying Guild Wars. It's a fun computer game!

Playing live or socially it's about having fun, some of the put downs are very cutting and the 'crack' is great but for me it's about respect too. I want to make the correct plays, bets, folds etc, I want people to worry about playing on MY big blind and to fear my raises! Luck is fine, wishing people good luck is fine and saying sorry when you hit the runner runner is fine because these things balance out. We all have the same chance when it comes to luck and as yesterdays post shows, when it really comes down to it, the plays you make are what counts towards winning. I do however understand that there are nights when you don't see ANY cards and it makes it very difficult to win hands! Anyway, showing some courtesy at the table, I think, is under no debate and indeed should be a given!

Last night Dimples and I watched Donnie Darko, what a great movie, there is however one thing that troubles me. Why did everyone go on and on about how confusing the movie was and that it did not make any sense? It was obvious to me and should have been to you lot too! *sigh*

On a more local note, the club complex, Kelly's, is to close. It was well know throughout the world as one of the best atmospheres to party in. I only went once but had a blast, I hate change! The Cloughorr House hotel is to be built on the site of the old Golf Links Hotel and will cost £30m. On the positive side it will create more jobs in the area but it is one of dance's institutions here in Northern Ireland.

Finally Dimples and I are off to a wedding on Friday, it's an old friend of hers, neither of us really wanna go (I don't really like all the showy, look how much we spent, farce of weddings at the best of times) but unfortunately we are committed now. Anyone got any good ideas of how to leave early? I want her just to say I have a dose of the sh1ts, lol! Who would question that??!

I Can't Find My Balls...

The Tuesday (Wednesday) night poker game went well, lots of good decisions, good bets, folding at the right time, bluffing at the right time and seeing the correct amount of flops ended in one, maybe two similar bad plays, with the same player (Magic Paul), reducing me from chip leader and a probable win to placing 3rd at a chip count!

I really have improved my game but I can't get to grips with one part of play, aggression, well it's not that I am not aggressive but rather I lack the 'courage' to call or raise bets (all in's) towards the end of a game unless I have cards i.e. a top 30 hand or preferably top 20! I HATE GAMBLING or TAKING CHANCES but I do understand that in order to win I do need to call these at sometime and rely on a little luck going my way in a 50/50 race!

So how do I get over this hurdle? I just don't know the answer to that, last night it cost me the win (£30 instead of £100) and in any game it really only makes me a top 3 player, not a winner! The weird thing is I find this play a lot easier online (I now play on Poker Stars under the name GAD123 if you want to look me up) but face to face I unfortunately wimp out! I suppose clicking a button is a lot less 'traumatic' than pushing most of your stack in to the middle on something that at best you are 50/50 and seeing that mountain of chips dwindle to a mere mole hill has a lot to do with it! The sad thing is that the first bad move was not calling an 11k all in when I was sitting at 60k, he only had 69 or something, can't remember what I had but it opened the door for him as that was the first of many blind steals (small 3k and big 6k), eventually culminating in Paul taking the win! There where other factors i.e. only 5 minutes of play left, Craig (finished 2nd only a few thousand ahead) only a couple of thousand chips behind at that stage, I had worked hard to get to chip leader, I got emotional (read as pissed off) about all the steals by Paul and also the heckles of, "call, CALL" by Kayeso did not help!

Anyway, its done now, lesson learned and hopefully I can take something from this, along with a bit of momentum to the 40 person Wolseys Series of Poker Tournament on Sunday! Wish me luck folks!

The Camp Shoe Web Site...

So Ferrari are signing Kimi Raikkonen but can he fill the void left by Michael Schumacher, I think not! I honestly can't believe he has left, he had many more years left in him and I personally wanted to see him race on the same, level playing field as Raikkonen. Now my support has to go to Raikkonen, he will be the most talented driver in F1 in 2007 and with all the other changes it will be a great season, I just wish Shu was a part of it! Dimples affectionlessly calls him the devil, lets see if he can go on to pick up the 2006 championship, the last 3 races are going to be exciting, if tainted with Shu's departure. It's the end of an era folks!

Camping was great fun at the weekend, cooking out doors (well Dimples done that), sleeping under the stars, frisbee, the walled garden, go karting, crazy golf, drinking, the maze garden and even a spot of shopping, need I say more? I will post some pics on my MoBlog later! I think we will get one or two more trips before the season ends but where to go??! Any ideas you know where to post you comments.

I want to change things around here, not a design job but a whole new set up incorporating some (there all have good and bad points, tho all contain similar posts) of these places below, maybe hinging on the freewebs site, 1 blog, 1 site, a whole package if you will because with nearly 300 hits a day I am sure I can provide something better and collect some advertising revenue. Any ideas you have are welcome:

9/11 5 Years On...

It's really scary to think it's 5 years since 9/11 happened. I still remember clearly are accountant in London telling me that a plane had crashed in to one of the towers and then trying to find out about it on the net. Once it dawned what was happing I shut up shop for the day, went home and continued to watch it all unfold on CNN.

Here in the UK there have been many TV shows over the last week relating to the aftermath, dramatising what went on and the build up. None of which I think need commented on today! My heart goes out to anyone who lost family, friends or partners through what happened and I hope we can stop any sort of civilian loss through terrorist activity and indeed, in any war.

What does make us happy? What makes you happy? How do we measure happiness? I don't know but currently I am waiting, waiting, waiting... Cryptic, eh??!

This weekend Dimples and I are off camping again. We are heading to Carnfunnock Country park. I am really looking forward to getting away, stress free, outside and escaping! Oh to relax!

Guess What's happening With Me...

That's right, another boring post about me! Well maybe not, in the news today we have more ramblings about Charles Kennedy's drinking, Gervais' secret Microsoft videos surfacing on web, just in time for season 3 of his amusing Podcasts of course, along with an Emmy, the world's smallest person? who is only 50 centimetres and the World Strip Poker Championships have been completed in London, tho I can't find any hot pics of naked chicks for you to ogle there is a video, just click here!

Right back to me. The weekend was fabulous, tho the weather was not great putting a dampener on it for my sister (Kim), Sean, my nieces (Kennedy and Alexis) and Lesley. I of course loved the wind and rain but it did make cooking, eating and generally hanging out in our 1 room dome tent a little crowded. Now I am going to upgrade to a better tent, a proper tent if you will, see below:

GAD123's New Tent

In other news they have finally released Lazy Boy - Underwear Goes Inside The Pants, I first got hold of that 2 years ago and it's a fantastic track! Until tomorrow, have a good evening folks, I am off to play poker, so wish me luck! On a final note do you think the briefcase in Pulp Fiction contains Marcellus' soul, yeah me too!

One Comment Too Far...

So if you use Windows Messenger (I should really fire it up as it's been like nearly a year since I last used it) a "report abuse" icon will soon appear on the chat software as a result of work by the UK's Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre. You will now be encouraged to click the icon when you come in to contact with inappropriate sexual behaviour. How silly is that! I mean sex chat is what 90% of people use it for, ergo it will be clicked and reclicked a million times a day, not to mention doing it for a laugh and to get people you don't like to piss of. And what for heavens sake are the CEOP and Microsoft going to do about these clicks, come round and arrest you, stop you using their software, band you or worse monitor your subsequent conversations??! *sigh* What next, texting the police the next time you see someone of Aisin origin in your local supermarket!

Too Much V-RB...

It's just another day here in down town Northern Ireland, not much to see, say or do. Just the same old grand of work and that. Watched a lot of V over the weekend and the acts that stood out where:

  • Bloc Party
  • The Go! Team
  • Lilly Allen

All of whom I have now purchased their albums, unfortunately they don't just stack up as well as I had hoped but LIVE they really rocked!

I can't wait for this weekend, it's almost perfect, leaving work to go camping on Fri, return home on Sunday (hopefully but prob not) for the F1 Race and then play poker in the evening while watching the BBC coverage of the Reading and Leeds festival. The only problem is I can only record 8 hours on a DVD in which I have to fit coverage of the festival and the race, so suppose it's the BBC2 highlights for me, unless I leave the PC going all weekend, hmmmm! The highlight for me is Plan B, I have high hopes for that boy!

Anyway not much news in GAD123 land so I am off, have a good day folks!

That Festival Friday Feeling...

Hey y'all. I still have not got the WiFi Max sorted but I am working on it! Poker was cancelled last night so hoping for a Fri home game or playing in one of the Fortune Rooms £30 satellites of which the winner gets a £300 entry in to a bigger 90 person freeze out tournament with a pot of 20k! If not I will be staying in on Friday and getting my fix online! Suppose I will watch the BB final too! *sigh*

Got my hair cut last night, then done a bit of cleaning before watching that bloody show Sugar Rush, I don't even like it but end up watching it every week *sigh* then I hit the sack!

Other than that I don't have too much to say. The news is all about the terrorist threats, which I have spent all my life hearing on the news every day so I tend to switch off! Work is work and I am looking forward to hitting the pub on Saturday evening!

Lastly this weekend and next the music coverage of festivals is really good, so here is the TV and Radio schedule I will be following:

Problems, Problems, Problems...

I bought a WiFi Max to connect my PSP to the net and use their software via the PSP browser to download files direct to my PSP wirelessly! Unfortunately, all though, I thought it was a cheap and simple solution, it's not! Lots of people have had the same problems obtaining an IP address (that I have still to achieve) but Windows Firewall was the main stumbling block for me, before I even got that far. I could not even turn it on to start Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) and after 12 hours of fixes, resetting Winsock, editing the registry and messing with services I finally uninstalled SP2 and it worked. Tho upon reinstalling SP2 the Windows Firewall was again inactive. After wasting more time I have now got Windows Firewall up and running (tho I am not using it as my firewall you understand, it was just to get ICS started), with ICS but now I can't get my PSP to obtain an IP address without timing out. I should have just bought a router or something but I will keep you all posted if I find the definitive solution!

Apart from that I did manage to sort out some other small issues along the way with my PC, delving so deep you find solutions to problems that before required a work around!

I installed Poker Stars over the weekend for my online poker sessions but I don't really like it, not because I lost but the software seems to run a little slowly. I do like the addition of the different themes but that's about it! I also bought GTA for the PSP, only played it for a short while but it's very good to get lost in, a nice escape!

I have a few photo's from the camping trip a couple of weeks ago which I will upload soon. We are going away again for the bank holiday, beside a lake this time, so lets hope I don't get too trashed and fall in, lol! I have been buying lots of camping gear this time, now I know what I need, so I expect it to be a very pleasant experience!

Work is getting busy, I have plenty to do in my social life, little sleep and dealing with that bloody WiFi dongle all make for me being not the happiest of people but hey, that's life, that's what all the people say!

Until tomorrow my friends, because I know I have neglected you all, have a good day!

Lost Perversions in Cars...

Here we go again, I post anything to do with sex, in this case the Imogen tape that has surfaced and I get a stack of hits and e mails. You are all perverts and I guess that makes me one too! I suppose this time I could forgive you all as it is just an extension of Big brother and the voyeuristic streak in all of us, though... It's funny that the internet has become so many peoples porn kick and equally amusing that only a few years ago that cinema was the only outlet and source of such things! I have posted before about what all this could be doing to society and time will, I assume, tell.

It's Tuesday, my car is at the garage, getting serviced - I will report back tomorrow how that went but I expect then to try and rip me off - tyres, breaks, etc. That's £300+ notes dead but at least it is out of the way for another year!

It's not often that I go begging... As anyone who is on MySpace will know, it's mad the lengths that people will goto, to get attention, asking for comments on pics, etc all the time, it's dam right annoying and I delete serial bulletin posters! Today is different though, today it would be nice, if you do come here regularly, to leave a comment of some sort. With stat's I know that there are the lerkers who keep coming back for more but I don't know who you are, if you have your own blog, nothing. So make me happy and make your experience that little bit better by saying "Hello, I read your blog"! Work, work, work *sigh* I will not discuss it here but understand that it's a fairly major deal for me at the mo, consuming my daily life, thoughts and generally weighing me down. Lets all hope that the resolution I want, is the conclusion I get!

Seen the final Lost of season 2 last night, as usual not much information given in the way of simple answers but thoroughly enjoyable none the less. Have more questions and will be hooked on season 3 I guess! Well that's you lot today folks, have a lovely day, I am off to continue with some research!

So a video of Imogen Thomas of Big Brother UK fame has emerged *sigh*

Lost in the Sky...

Over the weekend I tried to set up SKY's broadband movie download service, what a shambles! First you need Windows Media Player 10, I have 11! So rolled it back and then had problems with the DRM (digital rights management) folder! Still can't get it to work, have tried all the fixes and to top it off now I am having problems playing DVD's! I also read this today, sort out your current sh*t first SKY, that's my advice! All very frustrating. Anyway staying with the movie theme do you all know you can watch the first 24 minutes of A Scanner Darkly online, free? Well you can, just by clicking here. It looks like a cool flick, totally me, through and through!

Lost was amazing last night, the last eps is next Monday and I want it to arrive NOW, hmmm on second thoughts I don't as then it's finished until season 3! Must say it's set the finale up perfectly. Staying with TV, I have no interest in Love Island but the arrival or Steve-O is sure to stir things up so if anyone watches, keep me posted on his sananagans!

I am so tired today, trying to turn my life around after sleeping all day and staying up all night is tough. So sorry if it's a bit rambley today. Hating this weather too, hate the summer anyway but this heat and sun is taking the p*ss. I can't understand why you lot are complaining tho, you prayed for a good summer!! 1 last thing, I am going to try and free up some time to look at secondlife.com, with MySpace now being more popular than Google and Yahoo, big companies and their agencies are struggling to understand the implications of social media mixed with online entertainment. A part from that I hear people are making a good living selling virtual flowers there!

Hey folks, ya miss me? Nah thought not! I had a lovely holiday, well it was more like an extended weekend, full of drink, merriment and going to bed at the same time I got up this morning! Now it's back to the old grind stone, trying to eek out a living from within these office walls and for what, a fistful of dollars to purchase things in an attempt to lift my mood and forget about working in this box. Free Swimming on USA Day...

I had a fantastic weekend, drinking, eating lovely food, the little break in the country, walking the Ulster Way, playing Crazy Golf, buying a new fish (called him Kanya), watching the football (Why is Rooney not getting more stick for being sent off and reacting like a twat?!), watching the F1 race (go on Shu) and generally having fun. You can check out some pics here, as I finally updated my MoBlog!

SKY TV called me yesterday - they always do at this time of the year as there is no football fixtures - offering me the movies and sports, the whole deal for an extra £10 a month for 3 months. Sounds great and every year I take it but it's only after that I realise, I never watch sports, I have seen all the movies and the ones I have not see I never find the time to watch! Well done SKY, you got me again!

I watched a great program on channel 4 last night, I can't understand why it was given a late night slot when it's target audience is probably teenagers and kids, it was also very entertaining, interesting and deserved a better time.

Channel 4 produced a program about this before, that one was shown maybe 3 years ago and I had heard of it before that. You may never have known it existed but I bet you have tried it! It's called Parkour or free running, that is, moving through the urban jungle your own unique way, fluid, like water if you will. It's all very spiritual but at base level it's jumping roof to roof, fence to fence, pillar to post by some very fit, skilled men (weirdly no women featured in the shows, well possibly 1 or 2, maybe their boobs get in the way) with huge balls! The BBC have a great page about it, with pics, video and history, click here to have a look!

To finish off today it's STAT WHORE TIME again:

Dyslexic Poems...

I have written about it before, I am dyslexic and in real terms it makes it tough when writing anything i.e. posting here. My spelling is rubbish and so is my grammar and working in advertising, putting together ad's I know it's nearly impossible to proof on screen ergo that is why things don't often read that well here or as they are supposed to. Anyway with that in mind (excuses made, lol) I started to write a poem for Dimples, I have no idea of structure, rhyming couplets and all that jazz though! This is what I have completed so far, it's crap and I know it, so you don't have to tell me but it is a little amusing:

Short and Sweet...

Short and sweet,
I said, she had fat feet,
It's my mistake,
I was wrong.

We met on the net,
You and I,
I was not prepared for what came next,
Per chance to make a nest.

Slowly, slowly,
We make our way,
Towards that big day,
'If' is what I will say.

I must also say that I download WWE Vengeance 2006 to watch at the weekend, along with ECW One Night Stand 2006 and while on the subject of the weekend I booked a suite at a local hotel in the country for Dimples and I on Saturday, just to get our heads showered! Played poker last night down at the Fortune Rooms (Pic to the left), 46 players and I came 22, was ok. Went all in with AA (average stack so not under pressure to do so) and was beat with pocket 8's when the turn gave him trips! Ah well. Have a good day folks!

Just Tweaking Plan B...

Oh what a gay old day. On Monday night I did some PC tweaking, just speeding up the opening of files, clearing out the bird dropping left by old programs in the registry and the like. It was a bit of a nerdy evening. I also updated my PSP Firmware to 2.71, messed about with the RSS feeds, download some demos and that. This all inspired the tech news bit that follows!

I like trying to make this site work well with the search engines, I have went through this in detail before but goal one was getting through all the sandbox issues, etc and now it's surviving the Google, Live, etc search engine updates. When I look at the stats for here, I particularly like the keywords section. Some of the words that link here and that people search on are dam scary! Anyway yesterday I seen this and it made me smile. My little blog must rank well and I must be doing the correct things, see the pic below, 2nd out of nearly 1 million (I am now first!) WoW!:

TODAY'S BIG BROTHER THOUGHT :: Why, Oh, Why does everyone fancy Pete? Don't get me wrong, he is a fantastic bloke and I would probably have a go at him but would they, in the real world, at the pub? I think not! Not one of those girls would look twice at him, ergo their motivation is... *sigh*

TODAY'S TECH NEWS :: Apparently mobile phone users here in the UK sent a record 3.3 billion text messages in May! OMG! Also a Spanish firm is to sell subsidised routers as part of a plan to turn domestic wi-fi networks into public hotspots. Fon will sell wi-fi routers, which allow people to surf the interwebnet wirelessly, for only £2.75. They have me interested and Mr A will have something to use up that extra bandwidth NTL have thrown at him now! The firm aims to create public wi-fi networks street by street across the whole of the USA and Europe.
