Belfast, N.I., United Kingdom
I first got on the net over 15 (2009) years ago and have had my own site for at least 7 (2009) of those years (a place where I could dump the misery of my everyday life!), you can see my fist efforts @ www.freewebs.com/gad123 and my current blog @ www.gad123.co.uk . I am a kind person, smart, (I know that is subjective) and witty, the dry, sarcastic type! I am told that I am easy to talk to and am very laid back. I enjoy playing poker, listening to any music, watching movies & American TV shows, love going to the pub, dancing on a Saturday night and am a bit of a nerd as I own a Wii, PS3 and built my own PC! I am a creature of routine, love the night time when all the exciting things happen, am a bit of an insomniac and love getting trashed at the weekends! If you want, you can catch me on MSN @ graham@gad123.co.uk! Take care and enjoy you browse around this GAD123 Page!

Pandemonium at the weekend...

Before I go any further I must tell you all that after an absence of about a year Pandairo is back online. I have no idea how here survived but welcome back Auld Steve - O!

Have you all heard the song by Lil' Chris called Checkin It Out? It's a great track, especially considering he is only 15! I have no idea what his other stuff is like but I am going to check it out. His site is very good too.

Chinese GP is on ITV this weekend, I can't wait tho getting up at 6am to watch it live will be tough! Maybe as last year I will just stay up all night. Here are the times for you:

  • Qualifying: Saturday 30 September 1510-1655 ITV1
  • Live race: Sunday 1 October 0600-0900 ITV1
  • Race re-run: Sunday 1 October 1330-1600 ITV1
  • Highlights: Monday 2 October 0015-0115 ITV1
  • Highlights: Tuesday 3 October 0340-0430 ITV4

Apart from watching that this weekend, I am off on Friday, my last day off till Xmas so that will be nice, a lie in and all that. In the evening Dimples (get well soon sick girl) and I are off to the Cinema, probably Clerks II or Snakes, I would love to see the Jack Ass movie tho! Later that evening I will be playing lots of cool music with my Bose system, maybe watch WWE Unforgivin PPV and playing online poker, late in to the night! Saturday I am going to lie in and lazy, following that through to Sunday evening, punctuated by the F1 race! Have a nice day y'all.

Driving Slow on Cocaine...

Don't you just hate people driving slow in the outside lane of a carriageway or worse, the motorway! It really gets on my goat. Lets think about it, why would you take your chance doing it, frustrating anyone behind, making them over take - breaking the law - on the inside, tail gate, etc??! WHY?? Are you a slow driver, if so get in the inside, are you scared, if so why sit in the fast lane, are you stupid, most certainly!

This has happened to me on many occasions over the last couple of weeks on the way to Dimples house. I am sorry I have to report that all of them were women. I don't get why anyone would do this, it just aint safe. I am going to go out on a limb here and assume they did not notice because they where doing there make-up or maybe they where thinking about that top form New Look they wanted to buy but by all accounts half of them did notice! I flashed my light after 5 minutes of being over taken on the inside and got the fingers straight back. Classy ladies! Anyway, lets not tar all women here, you tell me why someone would want to do this?

Finally today, just a short note about the new energy drink Cocaine! It contains 280 milligrams of caffeine and the hit from all that is likened to the drug, apparently it also contains a substance to numb your throat just like the drug but that's probably hearsay. We can talk about how this relates to kids and the moral and legality of it here in the UK and Ireland but lets not! The important thing is, does it mix well with Vodka or any other alcoholic drink for that matter, if it does I think it will become my drink of choice. At 350 percent the strength of Red Bull, I can't wait!

Raped @ Bose

The weekend was FAB. More camping, I just love it! My latest purchases where a great sleeping bag, you all know about the table and I got a little black and white TV! All the comforts of home for the great outdoors!

We did some shopping at Junction One, Dimples bought me some stuff from Next, we also got some bits and pieces from the other shops, scarf, hat, Pestle and Mortar, cat stuff, pillow, etc! I had the misfortune of going in to the Bose shop. My god how good are the systems they have in there? I ended up purchasing the COMPANION® 3 multimedia speaker system. It probably is the best PC sound system you could buy. I wanted a sticker that read "I was rapped at Bose" but apparently they don't do them! Here is a little pic so you can admire them, beats a Table Mate... just:

BOSE COMPANION® 3

Couple that with the best Keyboard and mouse combo on the market, my 19" flat panel monitor and my PC set up is really getting there! All I need now is Vista to come out so I can build a suitable box to go with the peripherals (Like a good sound card, tho the one I have is 7.1 the quality is not the best)! Can anyone recomend some good tracks to get, ones that will make the most of my new system?

Posts later in the week will include, this weekends plans, F1, driving, cinema, Silent Hill, WWE, possibly... Cheers for stopping by folks!

I Bought a Table-Mate®...

I bought a Table-Mate®! Sad I know but after seeing it on a shopping channel I had to get one, perfect for bed, camping, even putting my cordless keyboard and mouse on! From their site:

Table-Mate®

"Table-Mate® is the patented ultimate adjustable and portable table that slides right up to your body."

I must admit they where charging £29.99 on the TV but I managed to find it for £12.99 online, bargain of the day or what??!

Good Luck Marrying Donnie...

To follow on a little from yesterdays ramblings about the home game, I read a post about luck over at the Cards Chat Blog. I view their site every day, find it interesting and informative and today's was no different. FPaulsson posted about another guys - who I am not going to mention because he does not deserve a link - blog, in it he said basically that saying sorry for a bad beat or even wishing people good luck was stupid and we only play to win money! Now I agree that playing online is about winning but I also enjoy it like Astolath is currently enjoying Guild Wars. It's a fun computer game!

Playing live or socially it's about having fun, some of the put downs are very cutting and the 'crack' is great but for me it's about respect too. I want to make the correct plays, bets, folds etc, I want people to worry about playing on MY big blind and to fear my raises! Luck is fine, wishing people good luck is fine and saying sorry when you hit the runner runner is fine because these things balance out. We all have the same chance when it comes to luck and as yesterdays post shows, when it really comes down to it, the plays you make are what counts towards winning. I do however understand that there are nights when you don't see ANY cards and it makes it very difficult to win hands! Anyway, showing some courtesy at the table, I think, is under no debate and indeed should be a given!

Last night Dimples and I watched Donnie Darko, what a great movie, there is however one thing that troubles me. Why did everyone go on and on about how confusing the movie was and that it did not make any sense? It was obvious to me and should have been to you lot too! *sigh*

On a more local note, the club complex, Kelly's, is to close. It was well know throughout the world as one of the best atmospheres to party in. I only went once but had a blast, I hate change! The Cloughorr House hotel is to be built on the site of the old Golf Links Hotel and will cost £30m. On the positive side it will create more jobs in the area but it is one of dance's institutions here in Northern Ireland.

Finally Dimples and I are off to a wedding on Friday, it's an old friend of hers, neither of us really wanna go (I don't really like all the showy, look how much we spent, farce of weddings at the best of times) but unfortunately we are committed now. Anyone got any good ideas of how to leave early? I want her just to say I have a dose of the sh1ts, lol! Who would question that??!

I Can't Find My Balls...

The Tuesday (Wednesday) night poker game went well, lots of good decisions, good bets, folding at the right time, bluffing at the right time and seeing the correct amount of flops ended in one, maybe two similar bad plays, with the same player (Magic Paul), reducing me from chip leader and a probable win to placing 3rd at a chip count!

I really have improved my game but I can't get to grips with one part of play, aggression, well it's not that I am not aggressive but rather I lack the 'courage' to call or raise bets (all in's) towards the end of a game unless I have cards i.e. a top 30 hand or preferably top 20! I HATE GAMBLING or TAKING CHANCES but I do understand that in order to win I do need to call these at sometime and rely on a little luck going my way in a 50/50 race!

So how do I get over this hurdle? I just don't know the answer to that, last night it cost me the win (£30 instead of £100) and in any game it really only makes me a top 3 player, not a winner! The weird thing is I find this play a lot easier online (I now play on Poker Stars under the name GAD123 if you want to look me up) but face to face I unfortunately wimp out! I suppose clicking a button is a lot less 'traumatic' than pushing most of your stack in to the middle on something that at best you are 50/50 and seeing that mountain of chips dwindle to a mere mole hill has a lot to do with it! The sad thing is that the first bad move was not calling an 11k all in when I was sitting at 60k, he only had 69 or something, can't remember what I had but it opened the door for him as that was the first of many blind steals (small 3k and big 6k), eventually culminating in Paul taking the win! There where other factors i.e. only 5 minutes of play left, Craig (finished 2nd only a few thousand ahead) only a couple of thousand chips behind at that stage, I had worked hard to get to chip leader, I got emotional (read as pissed off) about all the steals by Paul and also the heckles of, "call, CALL" by Kayeso did not help!

Anyway, its done now, lesson learned and hopefully I can take something from this, along with a bit of momentum to the 40 person Wolseys Series of Poker Tournament on Sunday! Wish me luck folks!

The Camp Shoe Web Site...

So Ferrari are signing Kimi Raikkonen but can he fill the void left by Michael Schumacher, I think not! I honestly can't believe he has left, he had many more years left in him and I personally wanted to see him race on the same, level playing field as Raikkonen. Now my support has to go to Raikkonen, he will be the most talented driver in F1 in 2007 and with all the other changes it will be a great season, I just wish Shu was a part of it! Dimples affectionlessly calls him the devil, lets see if he can go on to pick up the 2006 championship, the last 3 races are going to be exciting, if tainted with Shu's departure. It's the end of an era folks!

Camping was great fun at the weekend, cooking out doors (well Dimples done that), sleeping under the stars, frisbee, the walled garden, go karting, crazy golf, drinking, the maze garden and even a spot of shopping, need I say more? I will post some pics on my MoBlog later! I think we will get one or two more trips before the season ends but where to go??! Any ideas you know where to post you comments.

I want to change things around here, not a design job but a whole new set up incorporating some (there all have good and bad points, tho all contain similar posts) of these places below, maybe hinging on the freewebs site, 1 blog, 1 site, a whole package if you will because with nearly 300 hits a day I am sure I can provide something better and collect some advertising revenue. Any ideas you have are welcome:

9/11 5 Years On...

It's really scary to think it's 5 years since 9/11 happened. I still remember clearly are accountant in London telling me that a plane had crashed in to one of the towers and then trying to find out about it on the net. Once it dawned what was happing I shut up shop for the day, went home and continued to watch it all unfold on CNN.

Here in the UK there have been many TV shows over the last week relating to the aftermath, dramatising what went on and the build up. None of which I think need commented on today! My heart goes out to anyone who lost family, friends or partners through what happened and I hope we can stop any sort of civilian loss through terrorist activity and indeed, in any war.
