About Me - GAD123

My photo
Belfast, N.I., United Kingdom
I first got on the net over 15 (2009) years ago and have had my own site for at least 7 (2009) of those years (a place where I could dump the misery of my everyday life!), you can see my fist efforts @ www.freewebs.com/gad123 and my current blog @ www.gad123.co.uk . I am a kind person, smart, (I know that is subjective) and witty, the dry, sarcastic type! I am told that I am easy to talk to and am very laid back. I enjoy playing poker, listening to any music, watching movies & American TV shows, love going to the pub, dancing on a Saturday night and am a bit of a nerd as I own a Wii, PS3 and built my own PC! I am a creature of routine, love the night time when all the exciting things happen, am a bit of an insomniac and love getting trashed at the weekends! If you want, you can catch me on MSN @ graham@gad123.co.uk! Take care and enjoy you browse around this GAD123 Page!

Lucky Friday...

So it's Friday, happydays but also the 13th, boo hiss. Now I don't buy in to all that superstitious rubbish but because I am (think) participating in a Poker game tonight it maybe has more meaning to me today. Anyway whatever transpires, if I loose I will be blaming the date!

Sort of a poker overload this evening because after the game I am returning home to watch the new South Park that I will have recorded from the Paramount Channel and playing Online Poker at www.partypoker.com and hoping to find a few chumps there. I play under the name 'gadcouk' if you wanna look me up. Think I will enter a tournament tonight, smoke lots of Marlboro Reds and plenty of VRB (Vodka & Red Bull)!

I was searching for images and came across Montage-a-Google. It's very interesting in that it makes an image wall of anything you search on, so here is the image wall for GAD123. Does this represent me at all? It's weird:

Lost For Words...

So did everyone watch Lost last night? Any good? I seen it ages ago as it was shown, along with other well known American import shows like Desperate Housewives on RTE long before C4 or E4. I am currently waiting for season 2 of Lost to start, which I assume will be soon but I will give you all a heads up as soon as I know. Remember if you have Sky you all can view RTE or if, of course... you live in Ireland!

So what's the score with New Years Resolutions, anyone make any? Stick to them? I never do and true to form did not this year, just don't see the point! If I am going to change something, I will, I don't need an excuse to do it. I suppose stopping smoking will be the biggie this year.

You can do this too if you want, it's boring but content non the less. Here are my favourite 10 objects, in a ranked order, sort of:

1.PC *sighs*
2.42" Plasma TV
3.DVD Recorder
4.Vodka Measure for VRB
5.New Remote Control
6.Cordless Headphones
7.k750i Mobile
8.Fish tank
9.Bed
10.Zippo Lighter

I could go on and on because like every man, I find it possible to love inanimate items, lol! I found this very funny irc quotes page, you got to check it out! Here are some geeky examples:

do you think the word emo would be accepted in scrabble
Of course not. Emos are never accepted anywhere.

Big Brother, Mostly...

So Celebrity Big Brother in the UK is starting to bed in, settle down and the facades are fading. It's a very interesting show which I have followed since day one, especially when BB stays well away and the 'contestants' are left to chat, entertain and generally, not get on. I love people watching I do, see what I done there? The most interesting thing for me in this years show is the whole Pete Burns thing, the way he looks, his complete lack of competence in doing anything for himself and his witty one liners, "You can take a whore to culture but you can't make her think" - Brilliant!

The scary thing now is that he could face a jail sentence upon leaving the house for wearing a gorilla skin coat, an endangered species (did I really have to point that out?!)! I understand it's wrong to wear it in the moral, earth destroying and cruelty sense but as he pointed out himself, it's been made now ergo, why not enjoy it?!

I know, I know, what about George Galloway but he has just not lived up to my expectations, maybe the image is more than the man... Also aint it cool that so many people smoke and have no regard what so ever for the non smokers!

This is a photo of my new Panasonic DMRES10 DVD Recorder, for the price I got it at, it's amazing!

HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS!

I know it's been a while and you have probably gone through all the feelings of denial, regret, hatred but now your overwhelming emotion should be, neigh WILL be joy, bliss and happiness! For my friends, I am back and as before I have nothing of any interest to say and the equilibrium has returned bringing balance to the interwebnet!

Xmas was a fairly normal affair, family, GF, drink, food, drink, sleep, TV, poker, drink, GF, you get the idea, like a merry go round of gluttony and greed. Very enjoyable too I may add! Tho what was different this year was that for the first time ever in my adult life I stayed in on New Years Eve, wonders will, clearly, never cease!

Now it's the second week in January, Monday dragged and the rest of the week is, I assume, going to as well and all I can say is (not that there is anything wrong with that) thank god I am not on one of those Detox, diets, keep fit things because I am sure at this stage on a Tue, suicide would seem like a plausible option!

Time is a bit of a premium for me at the mo but topics that I should try and cover this week are, Big Brother, all the new TV shows, my DVD recorder and new DVD's, Links to some great sites, online poker, Posting photos on My MoBlog again, Tony Blair's 'respect' plans (nah not really) and whatever other crap I and you care to mention!

To wrap up for today, good luck to anyone who made some New Year resolutions (not that I did), may 2006 be good to you all and don't forget to spread the word!

Um, yes, well, OK!

So what to tell the world about today? Well work is still really hard going, just heavy, know what I mean? Otherwise life is not to bad, well the couple of hours I am not working is anyway! Been hanging around a lot with Dimples!

She amuses me, lifts my mood, 'Get's Me' and sooths me! Even tho her working life is tough at the moment she still makes time for me! Tho I still am concerned that we are lacking a safety net, am not scared of making the jump exactly, just concerned that if she does not catch me it's the end of my trapisee days and I will have to go back to being a clown. Not too much of a problem but I would prefere to be Top Billing!

Anyway it's early days and a high wire act takes many years to perfect! The Circus life is the life for me!

Some other stuff:

  • Space Cadetts, I am watching it but *sigh*
  • Still playing Party Poker! Use gad123 as code and get your deposite doubled!
  • Bought lots more DVD's
  • I am leaving BT because they suck, they have a DL limit of 40gigs but I am using 120+! It's funny really!
I want this remote (its on order):

Logitech Harmony 525 Remote Control

I got this from here!

The South Park theme tune (the song you hear in the opening sequence in every episode) is written, produced and sung by Les Claypool of Primus!
South Park Theme Tune Lyrics*
Les: I'm going down to South Park, gonna have myself a time.
Stan and Kyle: Friendly faces everywhere, humble folks without temptation.
Les: Going down to South Park, gonna leave my woes behind.
Cartman: Ample parking day or night, people spouting, "Howdy neighbour!"
Les: Heading on up to South Park, gonna see if I can't unwind.
Kenny [Muffled]: "I like girls with big vaginas. I like girls with big, fat titties"
Les: Come on down to South Park and meet some friends of mine.

*In the third series, Kenny's line is changed to "I've got a 10 inch penis. Use your mouth if you want to clean it."

The Last Month of an Up and Down Year...

So there we go folks, the start of yet another month and thoughts start to be drawn towards Xmas! Our minds a swirl and full of images of people less fortunate than ourselves, the stress (an hour on the net for me for most of my gifts) of Xmas shopping, the years end, new beginnings, a new you perhaps, resolutions, devolutions, depression, loneliness, gluttony, greed and holidays! Well, for me it's some of the above but my overwhelming feeling is mild glee and positivity, wonderfully displayed by the following formula that Dimples will not understand, English, blah, blah, blah! Can someone check my spelling because I think I may have just made up some of those words:

(time off work + drink + family & friends)*Dimples = Happy Graham

Anyway I doth ramble to much, here are some indications on the convayencing of emotion via colour to help you on your way in website design!

Red:
Positive: Sense of power, strength, action, passion, sexuality
Negative: Anger, forcefulness, impulsiveness, impatience, intimidation, conquest, violence and revenge

Yellow:
Positive: Caution, brightness, intelligence, joy, organization, Spring time
Negative: Criticism, laziness, or cynicism

Blue:
Positive: Tranquillity, love, acceptance, patience, understanding, cooperation, comfort, loyalty and security
Negative: Fear, coldness, passivity and depression

Orange:
Positive: Steadfastness, courage, confidence, friendliness, and cheerfulness, warmth, excitement and energy
Negative: Ignorance, inferiority, sluggishness and superiority

Purple:
Positive: Royalty, sophistication, religion
Negative: Bruised or foreboding

Green:
Positive: Money, health, food, nature, hope, growth, freshness, soothing, sharing, and responsiveness
Negative: Envy, greed, constriction, guilt, jealousy and disorder

Black:
Positive: Dramatic, classy, committed, serious
Negative: Evil, death, ignorance, coldness

White:
Positive: Pure, fresh, easy, cleanliness or goodness
Negative: Blind, winter, cold, distant

So the stats for the month are in. Bit of a downward trend again, tho not bad for not posting anything, thanks for sticking around guys! Suppose I should get you all a Xmas present! Leave a comment and I will see what I can rustle up!

Sorry Guys...

Well that's another weekend done and dusted! I am so tired I just wanna cry, how long do I have to wait till the 'big push' at work is over and Xmas is here!? Sorry for not posting here too often, just having, for the first time, one of those lean periods that all us bloggers go through. It's not that I don't have anything to say, just I have too many other things going on and one of them, surprisingly, happens to be a good thing! *winks at Dimples*

On Friday I popped over to John's for coffee, watched Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow on my medium price range cinema system, then up at 6am on Saturday for some work stuff! In the evening was dinner and the pub, not saying where because I did not take pics, I hate telling you about something but you can't really visualise it! Did not seem appropriate anyway to take snaps but I will next time I head out in town, which happens to be this Saturday!

Does anyone watch Weeds the TV show, if you don't START! It's just great. The theme tune is excellent as is all the music on the show! I just downloaded Little Boxes. Really wanna burn it for my car but AGAIN, Grrr, my CD player aint burning! Think I may do a full clean install on my system, it's the only option left, tho it makes me sad! On the subject of Sky 1 programs, have you head they are remaking The Prisoner? It's going to be different but it's pretty exciting, the original was amazing and the final show was just mad!

That's me, I am done, peace out folks and have a great week!

I am back, sort of...

*Sigh* I suppose I should write something here as it's been effectively light years since I done so, tho it is 11pm and I am just in from work! How about, it's just 40 days left until Christmas, ok maybe that's not want you want to hear, I certainly don't but hey, it's a Monday so I don't think I can bring you down further. Anyway on with the show...

Last week was made up of work, work and more work, it's the busiest time of the year for us ergo me and subsequently my social life goes in to freefall! I did however purchase some nice things, you can check them out by clicking HERE, if you want, your call! I got a 42" inch Plasma TV, a k750i Moby, free view for the rents and cool cordless headphones for my "I'M NOT DEAF" father! Over the weekend I got a bit carried away on Play.com and purchased:

Nissan DV098 DivX / DVD Player
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith (2 Discs)
Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow - The Collectors Edition (2 Discs)
House Of Flying Daggers (1 Disc) (Region 2 DVD)
Hellboy (2 Discs)
South Park - Bigger Longer Uncut
Spirited Away (2 Discs)
Great Lies to Tell Small Kids - Andy Riley (BOOK)

That will keep me going for a while and I think I also have found someone who would actually wanna watch some of the DVD's with me but she will have to be good. That leads me nicely on to the weekend of fun and frolics! Well maybe not a weekend full but I did hit Cafe Vaudeville on Sat night and had the pleasure of some great company! I love being cryptic, tho I don't really think that was *big grin* indeed *sighs, shakes head, looks at floor*

Ramblings and Smoking...

OK OK, sorry to anyone who reads this on a regular bases but I have not posted simply because this is the busiest time at work and that's all I have been doing, WORKING! However things in general have improved a great deal for me... Soon it will be time to get my social life back on track as well. As always I have been posting pics over at my MoBlog, so always check there if you don't see an update here!

I want to buy myself something fun, just to blow some cash really, hear are two things I have been looking at:

42

MiniMoto Bike

Has anyone any ideas of something fun to get? Also thought about a cool laptop, new super PC or just buying lots of small things! Trying to plan a few trips away but it's tough getting hols from work until Christmas time! I hope I have not neglected too many people over the past few months but in the new year everything will be back on an even keel.

I will post something more fun and intellectual soon but for now this will have to do. Smokers have supported the health service with Tax from cigarettes for 60 years and all they want us to do is give up. I personally have not been to the Docs in 10 years so have not taken back anything. Lets all give up smoking, become obese and see how the government copes with that!

The visits for this month have really gone up, so thanks to all that keep coming back and hello to all the first timers! Now all you guys have to do for me is... COMMENT!
